The Amarok project announced the availability of the second Amarok 2 beta release today, Oct 6, 2008. This beta is codenamed Nujalik, which, according to Wikipedia, is the name of the land hunting goddess in the Inuit mithology.
According to the release announcement, the most significant change in this release is the switch from SQLite to MySQL-embedded as the database backend.
For those who don't know yet, Amarok is the most popular audio player on Linux, featuring powerful collection management and tons of other great features. The current stable release is 1.4.10, for KDE3.
